Not legal advice — have your counsel review it before you use it.
What's in it
- Business information: legal and trade names, state cannabis license numbers and expiration, addresses and tax ID.
- Owners and contacts: who owns the store, who buys and who pays the invoices, with an email for invoices.
- Credit requested: the terms and limit the store is asking for and how it plans to pay.
- References: a bank and suppliers the store already buys from on terms.
- Terms the applicant accepts: paying by the due date, what happens when an invoice is past due, and telling you about an ownership or license change.
- Authorization: permission to check references and business credit, and a signature.
How to use it
- Put your company name in the Seller line and send the Word file to the store before its first order on terms.
- Check the license number against your state regulator's public license lookup.
- Call at least one trade reference. Ask how the store pays, not just whether it pays.
- Set the terms and limit in the "For the seller" box, then send your written net terms policy with the approval.
- For a larger limit, ask an owner to sign a personal guaranty too.
Once the account is open, the hard part is getting every invoice paid on time. ShelfSpace accounts receivable sends your invoices and follows up in your name.
