Most software help is a search box and a hope. You type what you think the feature is called, get back an article written for a version of the app that has since moved, and end up emailing support anyway. We wanted the opposite: a place where you can see the screen you're on, with an arrow on the exact button, and trust that what you're looking at is what's live right now.
That's the How-To Guide. Two of them, actually — one for the retailer side and one for the vendor side — because the person cutting checks and the person cashing them have very different questions.
Built around who you are, not a list of features
Both guides open the same way: a short Getting Started chapter that everyone reads once. After that they split into chapters by role. On the retailer side that's the owner and manager view, the accounts-payable workflow, the inventory seat, and a bookkeeper chapter for whoever keeps the books. On the vendor side it's getting paid, seeing your sales, and the read-only view for anyone who just needs to look.
You don't have to read the whole thing. Jump to your chapter, find the screen you're stuck on, and the arrow tells you where to go next. Every guide has a clickable table of contents at the top, so you can skim the whole map in a few seconds.
Real screenshots, always current
The screenshots are pulled from the actual product, and the pages regenerate on their own — so when a screen changes, the guide changes with it. No stale "click the blue button" when the button has been green for months. When something automatic is involved, like auto-receiving a delivery or a credit memo that finalizes on its own after a while, the guide shows you both states: what it looks like on, and what it looks like off.
Read it anywhere, share it with your team
Open a guide on your phone at the counter or on a laptop in the back office. Send the link to a new hire before their first shift. Or hit Download PDF and keep a copy — the same walkthrough, arrows and all, ready to print or drop in a shared drive. You don't need to be logged in to read any of it, which makes it easy to hand to someone before they even have an account.
Where to find it
It's linked from the top of every page here under Platform → Guides, from the documentation hub, and from inside the app under Settings. Or just go straight to the one you need:
- The retailer guide — everything on the dispensary side
- The vendor guide — everything on the brand and distributor side
If you're brand new, start with Getting Started for the big picture, then use the How-To Guide as your click-by-click reference. And if you ever can't find something, we're one email away at support@shelfspace.pro — but our hope is you won't need to.
