What's in it
- Acknowledgment: the buyer confirms the amount and the invoices it covers.
- Dates: one or more pay-by dates, amounts and payment methods.
- A heads-up clause: the buyer will tell you in writing before a missed date.
- What happens next: if a date is missed, you may hold orders or ship cash on delivery.
How to use it
- Fill in the amount and invoices, and send it to the buyer to complete the dates.
- Ask for a date the buyer can keep. A near date that holds beats a far date that slips.
- Put each date on your calendar and remind the buyer the day before.
- If the buyer needs more than a few payments, use a payment plan agreement instead.
ShelfSpace collects promises to pay for you, by email and by phone, and follows up on each date. See promise to pay on ShelfSpace.
