What the Consignment Settlement Report Contains
Every consignment settlement report generated by ShelfSpace breaks down exactly how a vendor's payout was calculated. Whether you're a retailer reviewing the numbers or a vendor checking your check amount, the report gives you full visibility into every dollar. Both sides see the same document — no separate versions, no discrepancies.
Reports are available as downloadable PDFs and as interactive views in the vendor portal and retailer dashboard. Here's what each section covers.
Section 1: Payout Summary Table
The top of the report shows the headline numbers: gross sales, total deductions, platform fee, and net payout. Below that is a category-level breakdown showing each product category's sales volume, the applied split percentage, and the vendor's share. This is the section you'll look at first to confirm the total makes sense.
Section 2: Returns and Credits
This section lists every credit memo applied to the settlement — returns, expirations, and co-marketing credits. Each line includes the credit memo number, reason, and dollar amount deducted. If no credits were applied, this section shows a zero balance.
Section 3: Discount and Aging Deductions
Here you'll see any aging discounts that were applied during the period. Each deduction shows the product, the number of days on shelf, the aging tier that triggered, and the discount amount. You'll also see any margin deficit deductions if store-level discounts exceeded the vendor's discount budget.
Section 4: Inventory Snapshot
A current inventory snapshot shows everything the vendor still has on your shelves at the time of settlement. Each item lists the product name, category, quantity, age in days, and current retail value. This section helps both sides track what's moving and what's sitting. Vendors use it to plan restocking; retailers use it to identify candidates for promotion or return.
Section 5: Final Check Amount
The last section shows the net payout, the platform fee, and the final check amount. It includes the check number and payment status. Once the check is generated, the vendor can download it from the vendor portal. Visit our consignment service page for more on how the overall model works.
